Copyright protects original works, while fair use allows limited use of those works for education. As a teacher, I’d highlight the importance of respecting copyright and teaching students how to use fair use properly. I’ve learned that public domain can help us create materials legally. On the other hand, I still wonder about the limits of fair use, especially with digital content. It’s imperative to encourage students to create while understanding their rights and responsibilities.
Academic dishonesty is a big issue with technology because students can easily copy from the internet. To solve this, I would use plagiarism detection tools and teach students about the importance of doing their own work. I’d also show them how to properly cite sources. By creating more hands-on projects that focus on creativity, students would be less likely to cheat. Talking about why honesty matters in school and life would help them understand the consequences of cheating.
Overall, the Newsletter Design assignment helped me learn how to organize information and make it look clear and easy to read. I got better at combining pictures with text to keep readers interested, especially considering the parents and age group at hand. In the future, I can improve my newsletter by adding more links or interactive features to make it more engaging. These skills will help me as a teacher when I need to communicate in an easy and effective way with students and parents.
